You play as Essi, who's mother died in a questionable accident 10 years ago. She left a USB flash drive with a locked folder called "X-Note". Unable to understand the purpose of it all, Essi continued living like a normal junior high student. However, Essi possesses a power beyond normal human capacity, hardly making her normal. Suddenly, Yuon visits Essi, interfering with her quiet life. Yuon invites Essi to investigate a murder case and mysterious disappearance at the Xen Institute. It turns out Essi's mother had ties to the school! With the possibility of unlocking "X-Note" and solving her mother's death, Essi decides to take Yuon up on his request. But what awaits there is more than she could have ever imagined...
